We are looking for a pro-active Year 5 Teacher who can show enthusiasm and a passion when teaching in front of a class, no matter what subject it is. The successful candidate will set high-standards for the children they teach, both academically and in regards to behaviour. You should have a solid foundation of subject knowledge, particularly in maths and English as the school is keen to raise attainment in both of these subjects.
About the Role
In this Year 5 Teacher position you will be teaching a curious Year 5 class of 30 children. You will have the support of a full-time teaching assistant as well as the regular feedback from learning walks, from supportive senior leaders. These walks are there in order for you to feel supported, not judged. The KS2 department is very creative in the methods in which it reflects its holistic nature. A talented Headteacher will be on hand to provide moral and administrative support for as long as you need them, showing you the ropes as you settle in to the school. As a Year 5 Teacher, you will be enjoying honing your talents further through the extensive CPD opportunities.
This accessible primary school is found in Birmingham and is easily accessible using multiple transport links. It offers a more creative attitude and makes a genuine effort of integrating well with the community. The high quality of teaching and leadership, coupled with the positive atmosphere that flows through the hallways have led to the school gaining an extremely positive reputation in the area and an increased popularity. Parent partnerships are maintained in school with teachers offering workshops where supportive parents have the opportunity to work with their child in a class so as to feel more involved in their education. The school always receives excellent feedback from these sessions. Using the momentum from a consistent period of improvement and the motivation of receiving a 'Good' grade from Ofsted, the whole school are ready to work together to push for 'Outstanding' for when the next inspection occurs.
