Year 3 Autism Support Assistant Person Specification:
This post requires a nurturing graduate who has earned at least a 2:2 at degree level, with experience supporting SEN, either in a paid or voluntary capacity. The school needs a graduate who has the confidence to take on new duties and an ability to build a strong bond with the child you support, creating a positive and safe learning environment. You must show the ability to create solid and meaningful relationships with your colleagues. The right applicant will have consistent passion for delivering support and play a supportive, caring and consistent role.
About the Year 3 Autism Support Assistant Role:
As a Year 3 Autism Support Assistant at this school you will be working in a 1:1 fashion to support the progression and development of a Year 3 boy who has a statement of ASD. The teachers in your team are well led by the multi-skilled Special Educational Needs Coordinator, a highly influential specialist who is always on the lookout for talented graduates looking for a pathway into teaching or SEN. You will work with specialist speech and language teams as well as other outside agencies that are part of the child's support team.
