Located in North West London is a popular school that is the beacon of the local community. This is a smaller than average 2 form entry primary school, meaning it has 2 classes of every year group. The school was graded ‘Good’ in its last inspection, and many believe it will soon be graded as ‘Outstanding’. The school has good facilities and resources, including a brand new library and ICT suite. Thanks to its outer London location the school sits on a nice plot that gives the school 2 large playgrounds and a nice size playing field. As a Teaching Assistant at this school you can looking forward to gaining excellent support in a school that really looks after its staff. The Headteacher has informed me the perfect Teaching Assistant will be a well-educated graduate with bags of enthusiasm and passion. This is a long term full time roll until July 2021 and the Headteacher only wants to hear from those of you who will commit to the full length of the role.
If successful, you will join a KS2 class with immediate effect. The Headteacher is happy to move other Teaching Assistants around, so if you’re looking for a Teaching Assistant role in a particular class this could be arranged. For the remainder of the academic year you will stay with the same class and support the Teacher in all aspects of the curriculum. The Headteacher also likes it when her Teaching Assistants get involved with after school clubs and extra curriculum activities. Is there something after school that you could offer, maybe you’re a keen sports person, or a lover of creative arts, maybe even science??
No matter what involvement you have throughout the year, this school will definitely add something different to your skill set, especially when you interview for a PGCE/ School Direct. The Headteacher has also offered to give any candidate a glowing reference, as long as you excel throughout the year, and, if the opportunity arises next year the chance to stay at her school on the school direct programme. Sound interesting?
