Edustaff is currently working with a client Primary School, who are looking to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant to start immediately on an initial six-month contract that could possibly turn into permanent.
This Teaching Assistant job will involve supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2 who have learning behavioural difficulties. You will be responsible for promoting inclusion; working according to IEP's and advancing learning allowing the children you will be working with to make positive progress by removing barriers to learning.
The successful candidate should:
- Have proven track record of working in UK primary classrooms
- Able to use positive reinforcement when supporting behaviour difficulties - working with pupils with ADHD this would be an advantage
- Be familiar with supporting groups of children with a variety of SEN
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- Have excellent communication skills
- Be a patient and positive role model for children
- Be willing to supervise children at lunchtime
- Be willing to work across primary age groups
- Be available full-time

This is a satisfactory school which is going from strength to strength. Over the last year, the school has improved its effectiveness in almost every respect.
The school is similar in size to the majority of primary school. Most of the pupils, but not all, are from White British backgrounds. The proportion with learning difficulties and statements is exceptionally high because the school has four speech and language resource bases. Children’s skills on entry to the Nursery are below the excepted levels. The levels. The school offers breakfast and after school club.
