We are looking to appoint a Science Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic school in Havering on a long-term basis this January.
The school are looking for a Science Teaching Assistant with a minimum 2:1 degree in any science alongside a strong academic background demonstrated in you’re A-levels and GCSE’s. You must be confident in engaging with others and will have the ability to make complicated scientific content into tangible, understandable content. Passion for your subject is a must, as the Science Teaching Assistant will be completely immersed into delivering this to a range of students.
Location: Havering, East London/Essex
Role: Science Teaching Assistant – all science graduates required!
Pay: £65-£70 a day
Duration: Long-term, full-time role commencing January
Essential criteria: 2:1 degree with strong academics through A-levels and GCSE’s
Desirable criteria: experience working within a similar role or within tutoring
The school in Havering are particularly interested in supporting a Science Teaching Assistant with prior experience in a similar role, which will in turn set them up for exceptional further training opportunities!
The Science Teaching Assistant support role
>Supporting class teacher in all capacities in Biology, Physics and Chemistry when instructed to do so.
>Leading 1:1 and group interventions for relevant content covered in class
>Support and encourage pupils in their free periods to revise and hold study sessions
>Raise profile for the Science department and be actively involved in extra-curricular activities
>Provide general AdHoc support e.g. photocopying, marking and preparing lesson resources
