This position would suit a bright graduate with a degree in Science or a related subject and a genuine passion for the subject specialism. You will need to be driven and enthusiastic with strong leadership skills allowing you to become a role model for students. You will need to commit full-time to the role from September 2019 through to the end of the academic year.
The school embraces the nurture and development of aspiring teachers; as such, this role offers the ideal platform for a Graduate Teaching Assistant ahead of their Initial Teacher Training.
As a Science Teaching Assistant, you will be timetabled to classes within the department and will gain experience supporting children across all age ranges and abilities from Key Stage 3 to A – Level.
Science Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:
• Support, encourage and inspire children and young people in learning.
• Plan and deliver engaging sessions when working with small groups and on a one to one basis.
• Be dedicated to raising attainment levels developing students social and emotional skills.
• Provide Science specific subject tuition from KS3 – GCSE.
• Liaise with class teachers and SENCO to apply individualised student plans.
