The Headteacher of a successful Ipswich based Secondary School requires a confident and enthusiastic Science Graduate for the role of Science Intervention Tutor. This role is based within a Secondary School that has polite and respectful students who are eager to learn. Given first-class pedagogical tools and expert guidance, the new Science Intervention tutor will be a key component in the mission to raise attainment levels in science within the school.
The role of Science Intervention Tutor will involve working 1:1 and with small groups of pupils within Science to help to bridge any gaps in knowledge and to further extend their grasp of exam topic areas. You will be required to support pupils at Key Stage 3 and 4. The school does have a Sixth Form so there could be opportunities to support AS and A-Level classes.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates who want to gain classroom experience before applying for a teacher training programme. For a Science Intervention Tutor who really fits in at the school, there will be opportunities to take up a School Direct Teacher training post at the school from September 2020.
The ideal Science Intervention Tutor will be someone who has tutored previously or someone who has experience of working with children in an educational setting. You must hold a minimum of a 2:2 Science degree to be considered for this position.
The Secondary School is highly regarded in the area. The Science department is incredibly supportive and looks forward to welcoming a Science Graduate who can support them in providing a fantastic learning experience within Science for their students.
