About the Science Graduate role
Your day-to-day life will involve supporting the qualified teachers within the school’s Science department. This is a classroom-based role and you will be working closely with KS3 and KS4 students within Science in a Teaching Assistant and Academic Mentor capacity.
You will be working with students on a 1:1 and a small group basis; helping to simplify the work that has been set to students and finding new, unique and engaging ways to build interest and to accelerate the learning of the students you are working with. Creativity and adaptability are vital skills in this role.
The school will be hoping that, in time, you will feel confident enough to team-teach/lead your own whole classes to give you the experience of working as a Science Teacher. From there, you can make an informed decision regarding the prospect of qualifying as a Science Teacher yourself in the future.
