Person Specification - Graduate Teaching Assistant
To be successful in your Teaching Assistant application, you will be dedicated Russell Group University Graduate who has already held a school-based position and achieved a 2:1 or above in your degree. The new Graduate Teaching Assistant should have the children's interests and development at heart, working hard to be a positive role model to all children under your supervision. The Headteacher wants to recruit a Russell Group University Graduate with a tenacious attitude to start a career in education, ensuring they're fully committing to the school to start a career as a Teacher.
About the Teaching Assistant role
As a Teaching Assistant, your role will involve you supporting teaching across the whole school and you will be displaying your suitability for a School Direct placement. In general, you will be using the support of your mentor Outstanding Teacher who is well practiced at helping future Teachers develop new skills by analysing areas you need to improve in and conducting 1:1 training sessions. In general, the new Teaching Assistant will be supporting the teaching staff by contributing to lesson plans and preparation, gaining a vital understanding in the day-to-day mechanics of teaching.
