For this role you must be a nurturing graduate who has achieved well in your degree, having earned at least a second-class or better. The school is hoping to meet an SEN Teaching Assistant who has an empathetic nature and can show a true passion for learning whilst possessing the skills to build strong and valued relationships amongst staff and pupils.
SEN Teaching Assistant Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working specifically with a 30-strong Year 2 class, acting as a main support to the welcoming class teacher. Your main duties will include helping the social and academic development of a pupil in Year 5 with ASD and minor learning difficulties while working alongside the SENCO to ensure smooth delivery of student’s EHCP. This role will include running booster groups and individual sessions and supporting the SEN provision. You will have the opportunity to have an ‘outstanding’ teacher train you in how to create an engaging and differentiated lesson plan, and once you gain enough confidence you will be asked to devise your own.
