This is a brilliant opportunity for a bright graduate who has a genuine interest in working with SEN. The post will be for the academic year (Jan to July) and will see you working 1:1 supporting a girl in nursery who is non-verbal. The child is happy and well behaved, but does require someone bright and creative with a calm temperament. The school will be working with a team of speech therapists and will work initially with PECS and build in Makaton, so any experience in these communication methods and working with special needs would be a real advantage.
As part of the support staff team, you will be working under the guidance of the deputy head teacher and inclusion manager, who is very personable and supportive of all her staff. The successful applicants should have a solid academic background, a genuine passion to work with special needs and be a committed individual.
The school is situated within the heart of London, with excellent public transport links available via the Northern and Piccadilly lines. This is a progressive and creative primary school with a typical inner city pupil catchment. Staff work hard to provide a safe and caring environment and so are ideally in need of a personable individual with initiative and a good work ethic.
