Maths Tutor | This Multi-Academy Trust school based in Harlow - Essex is looking to appoint a Maths Tutor to provide 1:1 and class support across the school with the opportunity to move into teacher training.
The placement will see you providing support to students across KS3, 4 and 5 in Maths, this will take the form of 1:1 tuition, exam preparation and whole class support working with students of varying ability ranges throughout the academic year. The Mathematics Tutor role will see you planning and delivering engaging sessions designed to inspire young learners and raise attainment, you will also be trained in the schools tracking and progression systems giving you the tools to identify student’s progression and really make a difference.
As a training school, this Harlow Secondary School has excellent resources for training and development, and you will be well placed to develop your tuition and teaching skills on your pathway into teaching. At the end of your year long placement you will be given the option to move onto one of the schools many teacher training options ranging from salaried routes into teaching to PGCE training that comes with substantial bursaries.
To be considered for this Maths Tutor role you will need an undergraduate degree at 2:2 or higher in a Maths related discipline or a Maths A-Level. Previous experience providing tuition or working in a support capacity with young learners is desirable but not essential, most important is a strong subject knowledge in maths, a patient and enthusiastic nature, and a genuine passion for aspiring to teach Maths.
