Maths Graduates considering Teacher Training in Suffolk

Calling all Maths Graduates who are excited to pursue a career as a Maths Teacher!

Having recently completed a Maths degree, are you now looking to pass on your love of all things Mathematics to the next generation?

Here at Edustaff, we help graduates to secure school-based experience for a full academic year, so graduates can make a fully informed decision regarding whether teaching is the career for them prior to applying for teacher training!

We are pleased to be working in partnership with an innovative Ipswich based Secondary School who are looking to appoint a talented Maths Graduate who can provide effective support within their Maths department throughout this coming academic year:

***Maths Graduate required for an expanding secondary school in Ipswich
***Role commences from September 2019
***Maths Teaching Assistant/Maths Mentor/Maths Intervention Tutor/Maths Instructor
***£65 - £88 per day (dependent on role)
***Long Term, Full-Time Maths Graduate post
***You MUST hold a Maths based degree with a 2:2 or above. Those with Accounting/Finance/Economics/Statistics degrees are all encouraged to apply
***Ideal for aspiring Maths Teachers looking for additional school experience
***Maths Teacher Training potential from September 2020

The successful Maths Graduate will have a passion for Mathematics that they are eager to share with others. You do not need to have any previous experience working in a school-based environment as training and support is provided however any previous experience working with the 11-16 age range would be advantageous.

The successful Maths Graduate will be motivated to start a career as a Maths Teacher and would benefit and appreciate a year working within a Maths department to strengthen their knowledge of lesson planning, lesson delivery, behaviour management, marking and assessment.

As a Maths Graduate you will initially start out as a Teaching Assistant/Academic Mentor whilst getting to grips with the school’s processes and policies. You will be communicating topics to students on a 1:1 basis; helping them to overcome any barriers to learning. In time, you will be tasked with planning and delivering your own small group intervention sessions with the ultimate aim of leading your own lessons prior to the end of the placement. You will be allocated a mentor who will support you throughout your time at the school.

Having completed this role for an academic year, there will be opportunities to explore remaining at the school and commencing your teacher training from September 2020.

Please send us your CV if you are interested in this Maths Graduate position. This secondary school is very excited to find the right fit for their forward-thinking environment in Ipswich - if you have any further question or queries surrounding this position, please don't hesitate to get in touch with Edustaff today.
