SEN LSA Specification
We are looking for a calm, academic graduate who desirably has previous experience working with SEN children or adults either in a volunteer or paid role and an impressive academic record and a 2:1 or better in your degree. You must have an inspirational attitude and the ability to forge strong relationships with children and other members of staff who you will be working very closely with. This post requires a graduate Learning Support Assistant who has the skills to face difficult situations head on and bring a positive attitude to the classroom. You will have the drive to play a supportive, caring role and enthuse the student that you're working closely with through your positive approach to learning. Once you have been given intensive training, you will must be able to deliver high calibre SEN intervention lessons. This will incorporate the school’s excellent resources and latest technologies that will enable fresh resources to inspire the pupil you are working with to gain the most from each and every lesson.
About the Role
Within this fantastic KS2 SEN Learning Support Assistant position in North West London, you will be supporting the development of a Year 3 boy who has Autism Spectrum Disorder on a 1:1 basis. In this post you will be joining the multi-skilled Special Educational Needs Coordinator's team and rapidly progressing under the clear leadership and dynamic approach of a leader who is known across the school for their talent for recognising the talents of graduates who are new to teaching. You will have the responsibility of discovering how to teach effectively by following a carefully formulated continued professional development and training plan. Additionally, you will know and understand what an Education Health Care Plan is and work effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure that this plan is followed, and extensive progress is made. This inclusive North London School is a unique primary school that places huge importance in not only the SEN pupil's social developments, but academic progress is ultimately just as important.
