This position would suit a driven 2iC teacher ready for a step up or an existing and talented Head of Humanities seeking a fresh challenge, who has the knowledge and experience of working with EAL pupils and a history of 'Good' or better teaching. The school wants experienced teachers who can use their superb written and verbal communication to simplify tough concepts and meet the educational needs of every student and staff member. The successful candidate will have a commitment to the 'Every Child Matters' philosophy, making their lessons accessible and intelligible for all students and reacting to individual needs accordingly. We want to meet experienced teachers who can differentiate class activities and display their leadership experience and knowledge, leading from the front and driving this department forward to becoming outstanding.
About the Role
As a Head of Humanities you will be expanding your duties as the leader of a welcoming Humanities. Your duties will include working on methods to ensure that the quality of subject content is kept up to date and relevant. Your responsibilities will include planning, developing and implementing the curriculum, keeping up to date with any new initiatives or changes that could impact positively on pupil’s learning. You will have responsibility of enjoying the support of ongoing CPD and extensive training on offer to any teachers and leaders who are interested. Part of your role will include ensuring the smooth progression of your department by liaising directly with the Senior Leadership Team in order to take on board their feedback.
