To be successful in the English Graduate Teaching Assistant role, you must have achieved a 2:2 or higher classification in your degree. You will be enthusiastic about English, specifically English in education, and be looking to develop your classroom skills. As an English Graduate you will be able to communicate effectively with staff and students, adapting your approach to a variety of ages and abilities.
This English Graduate Teaching Assistant role will involve working alongside the class teachers and assisting them in their planning and delivery of lessons. You will often be required to work independently with small groups of students and occasionally work 1:1 with those students with special educational needs. As an English Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the student in their studies, being an encouraging support for them and help further their understanding of tasks.
