*** EAL Teaching Assistant (Graduate Role)
*** Providing 1:1 and small group intervention support to pupils who do not speak English as their first language
*** Primary School in Birmingham
*** Full-time, long-term role initially for the 2019-2020 academic year
*** You must hold at least a 2.1 degree and GCSE grades of C or above in English, Maths and Science
*** Daily rate of £60-£70 per day
*** Interviewing for a September 2019 start
This SEN/EAL Teaching Assistant role will see the successful graduate working closely with both SEN and EAL pupils across the school. As an SEN/EAL Teaching Assistant, you will be offering appropriate support either on a one-to-one basis or by leading small group intervention sessions.
Your role as an SEN/EAL Teaching Assistant will include: preparing resources, responding to individual needs by personalising resources for an individual or a small group and liaising with the SENCO and class teachers regarding the progress made with the SEN/EAL pupils.
As an SEN/EAL Teaching Assistant, you will also be expected to attend SEN annual review meetings and work with and act upon guidance provided by the school’s dedicated SENCO.
This inclusive Primary School is based in Birmingham and has a higher-than-average number of pupils who do not speak English as their main language.
