Person Specification - Chemistry Teaching Assistant
You will need to be a resourceful Science graduate who has a degree at a 2:2 or better and has the ability to maintain a love for education. You should be able to illustrate your passion for education and desire to expand on your current skill-set by accepting any additional responsibility. The successful candidate will have a thirst for their subject that propels them to consistently learn and share new knowledge. You will provide an enthusiastic character built upon a genuine love of teaching and a desire to help others.
About the Role - Chemistry Teaching Assistant
In this Chemistry Teaching Assistant position, you will be supporting general classes within the successful Science Department and you will be working toward leading your own class. In general, you will be using your non-academic skills to help run one or more extra-curricular activities. You will have the chance to lead individual sessions with particularly gifted or challenging pupils and help to run smaller 'booster' groups. Part of your role will include learning the ropes from a supportive Outstanding Teacher who will be on hand to help you settle into the role and school. In general, you will be contributing to lesson plans as created by the teacher to gain a full understanding of how to lead a class.
