As a provider of an excellent, balanced SEN education for all, the school has a higher than average intake of pupils with EAL. This is a special school just north of Central London and currently caters for students with a range of learning difficulties, particularly in the Autism spectrum. We are looking for a creative General SEN Science Teacher who has experience of working with SEN and EAL and experience of working in an inner city school. You should be able to show exceptional organisational and administrative acumen and the ability to get across your ideas well in a classroom environment. We want to see SEN teachers with the drive to deliver insightful lessons on the full list of topics that covers every area of the current curriculum.
The curriculum they provide at this school is wide and varied with many extra-curricular programs run to supplement pupil learning. They ensure that the curriculum is broad so that their students are provided with as many opportunities to experience different styles of learning and develop a range of skills and knowledge. Science teaching is designed to support the pupils and increase their understanding of the world. In order to do this they want to develop the key skills and attitudes of observation and of curiosity. The topics are taught in a practical way and are differentiated to the learning needs of the children.
