You will need to have a confident and resilient personality. You will need to have a passion for English and feel excited about the prospect of projecting that same passion onto others. You will have the desire to explore teaching and what is really means to be a good teacher who has a positive impact on a student’s education.
During your time as an English Teaching Assistant, you will get the chance to work with students on a 1:1 basis but also in small intervention groups, developing and delivering fun and interactive sessions that are based on the KS3 and KS4 curriculum. You will broaden your understanding of the school system and learn about behaviour management and the different ways in which English is taught. In this progressive role, you may get the opportunity to plan and deliver full-class sessions as a English Instructor.
