This ASD Teaching Assistant position involves working closely with students with ASD. You will be supporting these students on a 1:1 basis enabling you to form a strong relationship with the children allowing you to fully understand their needs and methods of learning.
The successful ASD Teaching Assistant will need to be a secure graduate who has practice working with SEN, ideally ASD, and is able to relay your passion for education to your pupils. We want to meet graduates who can demonstrate a genuine interest in the welfare of their pupils through unwavering support in the social and emotional elements to school life. You will be a graduate who can have a calming nature and attitude so you can work closely with your allocated child and other children where necessary.
This is an excellent school with great support and development opportunities for all of its staff. If you are considering a career in teaching then this could be an excellent opportunity as the appointed ASD Teaching Assistant will have the option to progress onto teacher training, however this is not compulsory. The school are also interested in meeting with candidates who plan to move onto a Masters or are looking to develop a career in educational psychology.
