The National Space Centre in Leicester is a fantastic school trip for all age-groups to enjoy. There is something for both primary schools and secondary schools here, with exciting and interactive gallery trails aligned to the curriculum for KS1 to KS4. Schools also get to experience a brilliant show about space in the 360 Planetarium, which has been specially designed to relate to key curriculum topics.
One of the most exciting options here can be found in The Challenger Learning Centre. It’s one of only two educational space mission simulators of its kind outside of North America and allows students to undertake a Space Mission as both an Astronaut and Mission Controller. The mission is designed around the curriculum with the help of the University of Leicester and tests their communication, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
