We are looking to recruit 2 Teaching Assistants for specific roles within a large multicultural primary school in the South East London Borough of Lewisham.

My client is a very large primary school in the Inner London Borough of Lewisham and a new SENCO was appointed also in September 2012.

The school serves a diverse community. The percentage of students from minority ethnic backgrounds is well above average. The main ethnic groups, other than White British, are Black or Black British-African. More than half the students speak English as an additional language. The proportion of students known to be eligible for free school meals is well above average.

The proportion of students with special educational needs and/or disabilities is much higher than average and there is a specialist unit for students with autistic spectrum disorder. There are many students who are potentially vulnerable, for example, with long-term medical conditions, who act as carers or who are looked after.

This is a school where the behaviour of the students (especially boys in years 5 & 6) can be extremely tough to deal with. The school recognise this, and this is why the SENCO wishes to recruit 2 Teaching Assistants to work with these boys.

As a future Teaching Assistant only the most of ambitious of Graduates need apply!

If this sounds like the perfect Teaching Assistant opportunity to gain the relevant experience you need before starting a PGCE or GTP then please contact Jonathan Sammons at Edustaff today!
