This International School is currently in its 17th year of operation and has grown to offer a rich educational programme in English and Indonesian to children from the age of 3 to 18. Graduating students have gone on to universities in different parts of the world, e.g. Australia, Italy, the UK, the US and Japan as well as in Indonesia.
International teachers and heads of school work together with their Indonesian counterparts using their overseas experience to instill sound teaching practices. They demonstrate and practice Western teaching methodology, particularly inquiry and experiential approaches to learning. The curriculum is co-planned.
The school itself is situated on a beautiful campus overlooking rice paddies, beach and the Indian Ocean. The school also looks beyond its own boundaries to furthering the excellence of teaching and education in Indonesian national schools.
They are seeking to appoint enthusiastic, qualified, fluent English speaking English Teachers who are committed to working in an energetic environment. Successful applicants will be employed on an initial two-year contract and the employment package will include: Annual Flights, Gratuity Payments (upon contract completion) comprehensive medical cover and accommodation allowance.
Candidates for this position must be a good to outstanding teacher who is keen to get involved in the Primary Years Program and provide excellent referencing in the areas of Classroom Management, Time management and engaging, effective delivery of good to outstanding lessons. Experience of the IB program is desired but not essential for this role. Note that this position is only considering fully qualified English Teachers at Secondary level and is not suitable for English language teachers with ESOL qualifications accepted qualifications are BEd, PGCE or PGDE or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Successful candidates for this English Teacher role will be part of an experienced and supportive team, must have a strong emphasis student centred learning and will have to be an energetic creative, and inventive manner. The IB programme offers the opportunity for combined subject learning resulting in a well rounded early education for the students and would suit candidates with an open and inventive approach.
Indonesia is a fantastic place to live and work it is an upcoming location with a large number of Expatriates moving there in recent years. The school and accommodation is based just outside Jakarta enabling the successful candidate to explore the culture in the area while also being able to see the verdant greenery nearby!
