The Middle Management team includes a diverse range or roles from Phase or Subject Leaders and Coordinators, Deputy Head of Departments and sometimes Head of Departments. Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team middle management are often in charge of a few teachers or a particular area of the curriculum.

A middle management role is often taken on in addition to regular teaching duties, some of the tasks they are can be responsible for are:

  • Lead their specialist area and keeping on top of changes in the curriculum and good teaching practice.
  • Monitoring and evaluating progress and relaying the information back to Assistant Head Teachers and the SLT.
  • Liaising with and training any teachers who report to you.
  • Overseeing the general management and development of your chosen area.
